Freelancers: Great Websites to Find Work Online

Freelance job sites

If you are a freelance designer, you are probably aware of the popular websites for finding freelance design jobs such as oDesk, 99 designs, People per hour etc.

The thing is that these sites are so popular.

Sometimes, it is hard to find a project to work on as there are so many designers looking for jobs. The competition is brutal. On the other hand, if you are good at your job, you will quickly manage to find clients.

I would like to share other websites that offer work for freelancers, some of them are not that popular so it is likely that you do not know them.

Hubstaff Talent

Hubstaff Talent

Hubstaff Talent is a relatively new website dedicated to connecting freelancers with clients. Registering yourself as a designer is quite easy as well as the whole website experience. Finding and applying for jobs is quite similar to other websites which offer the same service.

Hubstaff Talent is different from the others though.
It is completely free. There are no percentages cuts for them. For example, Upwork asks for between 5-20% cut from freelancers and Freelancer requires 10%. Hubstaff Talent is completely free for clients and freelancers.

Being at the beginning, the website has no extensive database of thousands of freelancers so the competition is not that fierce.

Sortfolio

Sortfolio - Freelance Jobs

Sortfolio is a great website where web designers can put a free listing so they can find new design project to work on. Even if you have your personal website, Sortfolio also can help you drive traffic to it and find potential clients.

Don’t struggle alone with projects

Join the creative community of UX, graphic, web designers and developers to get help with any design or dev project.

They also have a Pro plan which costs $99/month and you will get a larger interactive display ad, up to 6 large images, placement above free ads, and a spot for your logo. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time.

Juiiicy

Juiiicy is a private community for top-level designers to apply for jobs posted by others or to refer freelance job to others.

Juiiicy is a platform that works a bit differently from the other sites for freelance jobs. The best designers receive lots of requests from different clients and most of the time they cannot work on all the project requests they receive.
Juiiicy helps in such situations as the designers are able to tell other talented designers about the inquiries they receive so they can work on them.

There is one more thing you should know about Juiiicy, it is invite-only because the creators wants to keep it clean and only for the best professionals from the industry so they clients are happy. In order to get an invite you should have a good portfolio and probably you will be selected for this great community. Worth trying!
