Bootstrap Multi-Step Signup Form
Signup and login forms are very important for any website which relies on form filling to communicate with customers and visitors. Although, there are different (one-click) solutions for signup and login, there are some websites which still use a bit long forms for singing up.
If a website relies on form filling for conversions, the whole process should be as quick as possible. One of main reasons users do not fill forms is their length.
In terms of forms, users should not take the whole task as an effort. That’s why, the focus should be on the minimum amount of information needed.
Regarding forms, which cannot be short and ask for a lot of information, there are some general rules to follow so the form is filled and the user do not take the whole process as an overwhelming task:
- Group information into different categories
- Separate form into different sections
- Add progress bar (and back button) for better organization and accessibility
In an effort to illustrate all these rules and requirements, here is a simple form with 3 steps. The different information is grouped into three sections. The form is created with Bootstrap 3 and some JS.
