Australian studio Brand By Name has a tradition every year to design a creative gift for their partners, clients and friends to say “thank you“. This gift is done to replace the traditional Christmas card.

For 2015, they created series of coasters which are featuring cocktail recipes from their favourite mixologists around the world.

For every recipe title, the team designed a typographic treatment which is combined with patterns inspired by recollections of relaxing on tartan picnic rugs during lazy summer days.

The recipients of the creative gift will get a delicate set of letterpress coasters which are accompanied by a personalized card and finished with a custom-made mailing label. The team even took care of the postage stamps as the latter were chosen to match the overall look and feel and all feature vintage advertisements.

Needless to say that the gift was well received by everyone as it stood out from the crowd of Christmas cards.
